Renewable power company Elawan Energy – Grupo Orix has placed a 50MW order for several wind projects in Spain. The contract includes the supply and installation of five V162-6.2 MW wind turbines and three V162-6.2 MW wind turbines delivered in 6.4 MW power mode.
The order also includes a 25-year service agreement. Turbine delivery for the projects is expected to start in the first quarter of 2025, while commissioning is planned for the second and third quarters of 2025.
Furthermore, Vestas has received a 155MW order for the second stage of Mercury Energy’s Kaiwera Downs wind farm in New Zealand. The order includes the supply and installation of 36 of Vestas’ V136-4.2 MW turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode as well as a 30-year service and maintenance contract. This project builds on the first stage of the Kaiwera Downs wind farm which was also delivered by Vestas. Delivery of Vestas’ wind turbines is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, with commissioning to commence in the first quarter of 2026.
