Caledonia offshore wind farm has selected Wood Thilsted to develop the structural concept design for its turbine foundations. The 2 GW ScotWind project, located in the Moray Firth and developed by Ocean Winds, is scheduled to be operational by 2030.
Wood Thilsted will utilise ground and metocean data gathered over the past two years from the 429 km² Caledonia site to produce modelling for the preferred foundation designs. The design work, expected to be completed by the end of the year, will also support Caledonia’s initial engagement with the supply chain on foundation fabrication and installation. Onshore and offshore consents for the project are set to be submitted in the autumn.
