The American Clean Power Association has appointed Brett White as vice president of markets and transmission. In the role, White will oversee the organisation’s work related to electricity markets, transmission planning, generator interconnection and regulatory initiatives.
White joined the association in January 2026 as deputy general counsel. He has more than 13 years of experience in federal energy regulation, wholesale electricity markets, renewable energy policy, transmission planning and utility regulation.
Before joining the American Clean Power Association, White served as senior vice president of regulatory and government affairs at Pine Gate Renewables, where he was responsible for regulatory and government affairs strategy for a portfolio of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the USA.
He previously held legal and regulatory positions at the Edison Electric Institute, Wright & Talisman and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, advising utilities, regional transmission organisations and renewable energy developers on market and transmission issues.
White holds a Juris Doctor degree from Vermont Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Appalachian State University.
