SIf has reported higher throughput and earnings in the first quarter of 2026, supported by continued optimisation of its Maasvlakte II production facilities and increased offshore wind activity. Throughput reached 60 Kton in the first three months of 2026, compared with 39 Kton in the same period last year.
Contribution increased to €63.8 million from €40.1 million in the first quarter of 2025, mainly driven by monopile and transition piece production for offshore wind projects, which contributed €55.0 million.
Adjusted year-to-date EBITDA rose to €21.0 million, compared with €9.6 million in the corresponding period of 2025. The company said the first-quarter results include a provision for additional costs related to the delayed production ramp-up, although this does not affect its current guidance.
Sif stated that production optimisation at Maasvlakte II continues to deliver performance improvements and remains on schedule to reach full production capacity by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
Production and load-out of monopiles for the Ecowende offshore wind project were completed on 20 March, while production for the Baltyk II and Baltyk III projects is progressing according to plan.
The company reported an order book of 476 Kton at the end of the quarter. Sif also noted improving sentiment in the offshore wind market, citing progress by the North Seas Energy Cooperation in supporting investment plans for offshore wind farms, grids, interconnectors and cross-border financing initiatives.
Sif recorded five lost-time safety incidents during the quarter, resulting in a rolling twelve-month lost time injury frequency of 7.0, compared with 2.2 a year earlier. Rolling twelve-month sick leave declined slightly to 7.5% from 7.7%.
