A new company has been launched with a focus on next-generation energy ports infrastructure. Gateway Zero, as a developer and investor, is dedicated exclusively to this sector.
Its mission is to facilitate progress towards achieving net zero by expanding global offshore wind and exploring economic opportunities for ports and coastal infrastructure in the areas of decarbonisation, energy storage, and green fuels. The company actively seeks opportunities to develop and invest in projects in collaboration with ports, public authorities, and other partners within the value chain. João Metelo, an experienced leader in renewable energy both offshore and onshore, leads the company. Previously, he served as the CEO of Principle Power, CFO of EDP Renewables North America, and more recently, as the Chief Investment & Financial Officer of Skyborn Renewables.
