Siemens Energy has reached an agreement to acquire Camlin Group, a Northern Ireland-based provider of grid monitoring, analytics and asset digitalisation technologies. The acquisition will expand Siemens Energy's digital grid portfolio as electricity network operators increase investment in grid modernisation to accommodate growing electricity demand, rising electrification and the increasing integration of renewable energy sources.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close before the end of 2026.
Power grids worldwide are facing growing pressure from ageing infrastructure, higher load volatility and the rapid expansion of renewable energy generation. Through the acquisition, Siemens Energy will strengthen its capabilities in sensor-based monitoring, data analytics and software-enabled grid intelligence, supporting utilities with real-time network monitoring, predictive maintenance and fault detection.
Headquartered in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Camlin Group employs around 650 people and operates across the UK, Europe, North America, Australia and Asia. The company generates annual revenue of more than £90 million.
Camlin Group was founded in 2010 by a team of engineers in Northern Ireland.
