New York's Governor Kathy Hochul has announced measures to support the state's clean energy sector and advance its 10-Point Action Plan. A $200 million Supportive Manufacturing and Logistics Request for Proposals (RFP) has been launched to enhance infrastructure and manufacturing for the offshore wind supply chain.
Additionally, a Request for Information (RFI) will be issued to shape the development of New York's fifth offshore wind project solicitation (NY5) and design a coordinated $300 million RFP targeting major component offshore wind supply chain investments. The $200 million Supportive Manufacturing and Logistics RFP invites proposals for infrastructure and manufacturing facilities, leveraging private investments. The RFI seeks input from industry stakeholders to inform the structure of future offshore wind solicitations and a $300 million Major Component Supply Chain RFP. The fifth offshore wind solicitation (NY5) is scheduled for a summer 2024 launch. These initiatives aim to attract investments in major offshore wind supply chain components, including port upgrades.
