ematec has introduced the Diagonal Pull Sensor System (DPS). The Diagonal Pull Sensor System is a two-axis sensor designed to monitor side pull during crane lifts. Intended primarily for tandem lifting operations involving two cranes, the system provides real-time information on the position of the hook block and load to help operators maintain vertical alignment during lifting.
The DPS consists of a battery-powered sensor unit and a ground unit that communicate wirelessly over distances of up to 200 metres. The system can also transmit data to a tablet via Wi-Fi. A graphical display shows angle measurements on the X and Y axes, while magnetic mounting allows the sensor to be fitted to existing crane hook blocks without permanent modification.
The system is suitable for a range of heavy lifting applications, including wind turbine installation, bridge construction and industrial projects where tandem lifts are required. During rotor blade installation, it can also assist crane operators in aligning lifting equipment before releasing the blade handling tool.
