Goldwind has produced its first 22MW offshore wind turbine, set to be installed at an undisclosed offshore wind farm off the coast of Fujian in the first quarter of 2025. Manufactured at Goldwind’s facility in Shantou, Guangdong Province, the turbine features a rotor diameter of 300 metres and blades measuring 147 metres, covering a swept area of 70,000 square metres.
Designed for installation at water depths ranging from 50 to 70 metres, the new turbine is expected to reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) by approximately 7% to 10% compared to previous models, according to Goldwind.
