Nordex has announced several product updates for its N175/6.X turbine platform, including a new power mode with a nominal rating of 7.3 MW. The update is expected to increase annual energy production by up to 1.7%, while maintaining unchanged sound power levels.
In parallel, Nordex is advancing a new tower configuration. A concrete-steel hybrid tower with a hub height of 162.5 metres is under development, with type approval targeted for the second quarter of 2026 and initial deliveries expected in the second half of the year. In Germany, projects with a maximum permitted building height of 250 metres can use the N175/6.X turbine with this tower configuration.
Nordex has also achieved a certification milestone for its 179-metre hybrid concrete tower solution. The company has received type approval in line with DIBt guidelines from TÜV SÜD for the hybrid tower developed with partner Max Bögl.
This certification enables approval and installation of the N175 turbine on the 179-metre tower. Alongside its internally developed hybrid tower, Nordex now offers a second certified tower variant at this hub height.
