ABL has been awarded a contract to conduct a shipping study assessing navigational risks for the Korsnäs offshore wind farm, an open-sea wind power project in Finland. The scope of work includes a navigational risk assessment, quantitative risk modelling, stakeholder engagement, and recommendations for risk mitigation measures.
The study will also evaluate the impact of sea ice near the development site during winter.
ABL’s Hamburg-based operations will lead the project, with the company’s global Ports and Harbours consultancy team supported by its sister company, OWC.
Located on Finland’s west coast in the Baltic Sea, the Korsnäs offshore wind farm is a joint initiative between Vattenfall and Metsähallitus, with a planned maximum capacity of 2.5 GW.
