RVO has awarded Ocean Infinity and Fugro contracts to carry out geotechnical surveys at the Doordewind Wind Farm Zone in the Netherlands. The offshore geotechnical investigations will be conducted within the investigation area in the Doordewind Wind Farm Zone sites 1 and 2.
Ocean Infinity will execute an offshore seabed campaign, including seabed cone penetration tests (CPTs) up to 60 metres below seafloor (bsf), seismic cone penetration tests (SCPTs), and temperature cone penetration tests (TCPTs). It will also execute an offshore vibrocore campaign with samples up to 6 metres bsf, with an associated laboratory programme.
Fugro will carry out an offshore borehole campaign, including laboratory testing. The campaign consists of boreholes with a target depth of 40-60 metres bsf, including sampling, with samples subject to a laboratory testing programme containing static and cyclic testing and microbial-induced corrosion (MIC) testing. Boreholes will also be subject to in-situ piezocone penetration tests (PCPTs), seismic cone penetration tests (SCPTs), and pseudosonic (PS) logging.
The results of these surveys will be published for use by the participants in the future concession tenders for the Doordewind offshore Wind Farm Sites.
