Equinor has decided to prioritise more advanced offshore wind projects along the East Coast, temporarily pausing the surveying of the 2GW Atlas Wind project near Morro Bay, California.
Although Equinor sees Atlas Wind as a long-term opportunity to help meet California’s growing energy demand, the company will focus on delivering its current US projects that are in execution. Equinor expects to resume surveying the Atlas Wind project within the next two years.
