Marine Coordination Services (MCS) has been awarded a contract by Van Oord to coordinate their marine transportation and installation activities for the 759 MW Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm.
Under the contract, MCS will provide remote marine coordination services from their new Marine Coordination Centre in Terschelling, The Netherlands. As a Balance of Plant (BoP) contractor for Hollandse Kust Noord, Van Oord is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the foundations, inter array cables and transportation of the wind turbines. Van Oord is deploying multiple of its offshore installation vessels on this project. MCS will remotely monitor and coordinate all sea traffic of Van Oord’s vessels, supporting vessels, and crew transfers between ports and the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore construction site and in the construction site. The activities will take place in two phases. Phase 1 starts in August 2022 and phase 2 in October 2022 and will run till September 2023.
