Under the directives of the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, inaugurated the UAE Wind Program.The 103.5MW project has been developed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar. The low-wind speed project spans four locations, including Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. A 45 MW wind farm plus a 14 MWp (megawatt peak) solar farm have been developed on the island. The other wind farm locations include Delma Island (27MW) in Abu Dhabi, Al Sila, Abu Dhabi (27MW) and Al Halah, Fujairah (4.5MW). Goldwind provided 23 units of its GW155-4.5MW wind turbines for the wind farms.
