RWE Clean Energy has formed a strategic partnership with renewables developer WhiteRock Renewables (WhiteRock) to expedite the expansion of RWE's onshore wind, solar, and energy storage development pipeline in the USA.
WhiteRock is anticipated to originate and develop 4 to 5 GW of onshore wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, with RWE having the option to acquire these projects as they mature and are ready for a final investment decision. Currently, RWE holds a development pipeline of 36 GW of onshore wind, solar, and BESS projects in the U.S. RWE aims to increase its renewables portfolio from over 9 GW net installed capacity today to more than 19 GW net by 2030.
