Sweden rejects Vattenfall’s Stora Middelgrund offshore wind farm

Vattenfall's bid to develop the 864MW Stora Middelgrund offshore wind farm in Sweden has been rejected by the Swedish government.

 

The wind farm was denied by the Swedish Minister for Climate and Environment, Romina Pourmokhtari, since it would endanger sensitive ecological resources and have a negative influence on national interests in shipping. Vattenfall stated in a statement that it will investigate the decision further to determine the repercussions.
