WindSim has confirmed that Geogroup, a Norwegian geospatial-technology company, has acquired a 20% ownership stake. Geogroup is the parent company of Geodata, ESRI’s distributor in Norway and Denmark, and Geocap, a provider of 3D visualisation and workflow-automation tools for offshore and infrastructure projects.
The investment builds on WindSim’s existing collaboration with Geodata and the ArcGIS platform. The partnership will enhance integration with ESRI’s ecosystem, providing access to improved datasets, including terrain, land-cover, and forest information.
The collaboration also aims to advance technology development across Geogroup’s portfolio. By combining WindSim’s cloud-based computational fluid dynamics engine with Geogroup’s visualisation and automation tools, the companies plan to streamline modelling workflows, improve project insights, and support renewable energy planning.
