Vaisala has expanded its offering for renewable energy customers by acquiring the UK-based software, weather monitoring systems, and services company Nevis Technology. This acquisition enables Vaisala to enhance its business in the offshore wind sector with solutions for installation, crew transfer, and service operations.
Nevis Technology specialises in providing and maintaining helideck and environmental monitoring systems, along with data portals for the offshore energy industry, with offshore wind parks as a growing customer segment. The primary applications for its systems are offshore platforms and vessels. Founded in 2018, Nevis Technology is headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, and has been growing profitably, achieving net sales of over GBP 1.5 million in 2023.
Following the acquisition, 14 professionals from Nevis Technology will join Vaisala.
