Vattenfall reported stronger financial results for the first quarter of 2026, supported by stable production levels and higher electricity prices in the Nordic market. During the period, Vattenfall completed a new 150 kV power line in Luleå in northern Sweden, supporting further regional development.
The company also resumed activities under the Hydroelectric Environmental Fund and initiated upgrades to large-scale hydropower assets to meet current environmental standards. Four renewable energy assets were commissioned across wind, solar and battery storage in Sweden and the Netherlands, including the 67 MW Velinga onshore wind farm in Sweden. Service operations teams were engaged in repair work on the electricity grid following severe wind and snowfall earlier in the year. Vattenfall also divested its French sales business as part of its continued focus on core markets.
Underlying operating profit increased to SEK 17,209 million, while operating profit reached SEK 23,798 million, including items affecting comparability of SEK 6,589 million. Profit for the period rose to SEK 18,115 million.
