Work has begun on a new control centre in East Friesland for RWE's offshore wind farms. Located in Jemgum, Germany, the office building will serve as the hub for 24/7 monitoring and management of RWE’s current and future wind farms across Germany and continental Europe.
Real Immobilien GmbH is overseeing construction on a site of approximately 4,700 square metres. RWE plans to lease the building long-term. A symbolic ground-breaking ceremony was held today to mark the start of construction preparations. Pending approval, construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with completion slated for autumn. Following that, the building will be fitted out, and technical equipment will be installed in the control room. The new offshore wind control centre is set to be operational by spring 2026. In its first phase, around 50 RWE employees will work from the new site.
