The Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES) has launched the IWES Digital Hub, a web-based platform providing access to selected digital tools developed within wind energy research. The platform has been available since mid-January and is intended for use by industry and research organisations.
The IWES Digital Hub brings together digital solutions developed, validated and tested at Fraunhofer IWES. It is designed to support stakeholders across the wind farm life cycle, including site assessment, planning, design, operation, monitoring and optimisation of wind turbines and wind farms. The platform is expected to expand over time as additional tools are added.
The first service available on the platform is GRIDSLI, a terrain mesh generator that supports computational fluid dynamics simulations by producing OpenFOAM mesh formats.
