Orklys has introduced GeoScout, an artificial intelligence platform that uses geospatial data and machine learning to identify and assess potential wind turbine sites. The technology is currently being used to support pre-feasibility work for a 12.4 MW community wind project in Sydstevns, Denmark.
GeoScout analyses a range of variables, including wind resource potential, proximity to grid infrastructure, land ownership, environmental constraints and nearby properties, to provide a data-based assessment of site suitability. GeoScout forms part of a wider suite of artificial intelligence tools developed by Orklys, alongside a legal assistant and a Renewable Energy Community planning guide.
