Seatrium has delivered a next-generation wind turbine installation vessel to Maersk Offshore Wind. The vessel was handed over on 26 February 2026 following sea trials and final readiness evaluations at Seatrium’s Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore.
The vessel has been designed and built to install large offshore wind turbines. It is equipped with a 1,900-tonne main crane with a hook height of 180 metres, enabling the installation of turbines in the 15+MW class. The construction programme included heavy-lift operations, system integration and validation by international classification societies.
The wind turbine installation vessel features a feeder-based installation concept. A stabilising system allows it to receive components from feeder vessels, including in higher sea states. The design is compliant with the USA Jones Act and can also be deployed in other markets.
The vessel is scheduled to sail in March 2026 for its first assignment at the Empire Wind project offshore New York, where it will support turbine installation activities.
