Senvion India has partnered with German manufacturer Voodin Blade Technology to develop and produce wooden wind turbine blades for its 4.2 MW turbine platform. The collaboration will begin with a feasibility study assessing the technical, economic, and environmental viability of wooden blades, followed by prototype installation and testing.
Voodin Blade Technology specialises in sustainable wood-based turbine blades, using laminated veneer lumber (LVL) to improve performance and reduce environmental impact. Its LVL production method eliminates the need for moulds, lowering energy consumption during manufacturing.
