windtest group has expanded its electrical testing services with the commissioning of a new medium-voltage fault ride-through (MV-FRT) test system. Housed in a 40-foot ISO container, the compact unit enables standard-compliant and flexible testing of various generation technologies, including wind turbines, combustion engines, storage systems, and photovoltaic inverters.
The MV-FRT tester allows efficient simulation of grid disturbances such as undervoltage (UVRT), overvoltage (OVRT), vector shifts and multiple dips—without requiring complex conversions. Tests are conducted in accordance with FGW TR3, IEC 61400-21-1 and other relevant standards, supporting the integration of renewable generation into future power grids. The system was developed in collaboration with Energie Elektrische Systemtechnik (EESYST) and its president, Rainer Klosse.
