Dominion Energy announced that the 50th monopile foundation for the 2.6 GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project has been installed 33 miles off the coast of virginia beach.
The project remains on schedule, with the company aiming to set 70-100 monopiles into the sea floor during the first of two installation seasons. monopile installations will continue through autumn 2024, with a second phase beginning in May 2025. The CVOW project will consist of 176 turbines, and construction is expected to be completed by late 2026.
