Final testing for the Gode Wind 3 offshore wind farm, jointly owned by Ørsted and Nuveen Infrastructure, was completed on 28 February 2025, and the project is now fully commissioned. This is Ørsted’s fifth operational offshore wind farm in Germany, with an installed capacity of 253 MW.
Construction of Gode Wind 3 began at sea in August 2023 with the installation of the first foundation. The wind farm consists of 23 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy turbines, each with a capacity of 11 MW. Electricity generated at Gode Wind 3 will be transmitted via the wind farm’s offshore substation and a converter station operated by TenneT, feeding into the extra-high voltage grid onshore in Lower Saxony. Operations will continue to be managed from Ørsted’s hub at the port of Norden-Norddeich in Lower Saxony. Ørsted will receive a weighted average price of EUR 81 per MWh for electricity produced at Gode Wind 3.
