NeXtWind has acquired twelve wind farms in Germany, along with a wind farm development project in Schleswig-Holstein comprising five turbines with a projected capacity of 28.5 MW.
The existing 140 MW capacity of the twelve wind farms will be expanded to over 300 MW through repowering and other improvements. This acquisition increases NeXtWind’s total renewable energy repowering capacity to 1,400 MW.
The wind farms are being acquired in a share deal from Nadara, while the Schleswig-Holstein project is being purchased from north German onshore wind developer PNE. NeXtWind received legal advice from Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) for the acquisition.
