Kanadevia Corporation, Taisei Corporation, and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to work together on floating offshore wind power. The companies aim to develop cost-effective and low-risk construction methods for floating wind foundations and their installation.
Kanadevia and Taisei bring expertise in constructing and fabricating floating foundations, while MOL specialises in towing and mooring them.
Kanadevia Corporation was founded in 1881 with a focus on shipbuilding. In 2002, it shifted towards environmental businesses, including decarbonisation, resource recycling, and urban development. It applies its expertise in large steel structures and offshore engineering to both onshore and offshore wind projects.
Taisei Corporation, established in 1873, has played a key role in Japan’s modernisation, postwar reconstruction, and economic growth. The company specialises in building cities and infrastructure that are safe and sustainable.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), founded in 1884, is a global player in the shipping industry. With a fleet of over 900 vessels, it operates a range of transport and infrastructure services worldwide.
