Gwynt Glas, selected in June as a preferred bidder in Offshore Wind Leasing Round 5, has appointed Haskoning to prepare the Environmental Impact Assessment and the Habitats Regulations Assessment. As lead EIA consultant, Haskoning will examine potential impacts on natural, heritage, human and built environments throughout the project’s life cycle.
The work will support the Development Consent Order required for a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project in the UK, as well as the licensing process managed by Natural Resources Wales for projects in Welsh waters. Gwynt Glas is expected to contribute up to 1.5 GW to the first 4.5 GW development round planned for the Celtic Sea.
