Fugro has been contracted to carry out detailed geotechnical surveys for the eastern array of the Dogger Bank South offshore wind farms, developed by RWE and Masdar. The investigations will inform the design of turbine foundations, inter-array cable routes, and offshore platforms by providing data on subsurface conditions.
Fieldwork is scheduled to begin in mid-May, with Fugro deploying multiple geotechnical vessels to the site, located 122 kilometres off the northeast coast of England. Survey methods will include cone penetration tests (CPTs), vibrocores, and sampling boreholes.
