Mooreast has been appointed as the exclusive strategic partner and representative for SeaTwirl's floating wind projects in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. The agreement, signed through Mooreast Asia, establishes a five-year strategic collaboration between the companies to pursue floating wind opportunities across the 11 ASEAN member states.
The companies also plan to cooperate on selected floating wind projects in Japan, South Korea and India, subject to mutual agreement.
Under the agreement, Mooreast will lead business development, customer engagement and market representation activities for SeaTwirl's floating wind technology across the region. Mooreast will also act as the preferred manufacturing partner for jointly developed projects, supporting the industrialisation and local production of SeaTwirl's turbine designs.
SeaTwirl will provide its floating wind technology and engineering expertise, as well as technical support for project proposals, feasibility studies and system integration.
SeaTwirl's floating vertical-axis wind turbine design features a low centre of gravity, a slim substructure and a generator house positioned at sea level, enabling maintenance activities to be carried out using smaller vessels.
