EU Energy plc, a UK-based alternative energy company, has announced that it has concluded a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Composite Technology Corporation (CTC), developer of composite core cables for electric transmission and distribution lines. The MOU was signed at the same time as an agreement between subsidiaries of EU Energy and CTC that was previously announced.

CTC Wind is a 100% owned subsidiary of Composite Technology Corporation, a developer of high-performance composite core cables for electric transmission and distribution lines.

Nordex AG is erecting the ‘Uelitz’ wind farm near Schwerin in northern Germany for around € 34 million. The wind farm will consist of 17 turbines from the Nordex N90/2300kW and Nordex S77/1500kW series with hub heights of up to 100 metres. The client is the Danish investor group Scan Energy, which operates numerous wind farms in Germany and the rest of Europe.

ACCIONA Energía is currently building three wind parks in Germany. At the same time, it is constructing two wind parks in France that will increase its installed capacity by 58% up to 60MW.

Under two recent agreements GE Energy will deliver approximately 500MW of GE 1.5MW wind turbines for projects planned by PPM Energy during 2006 and 2007. The recent agreements with PPM call for a total of 334 GE 1.5MW units. PPM Energy, which is based in Portland, Oregon, is part of the ScottishPower group of companies. With a portfolio of more than 1,600MW of wind power under its control in operation or under construction, PPM Energy is well on its way towards its goal of bringing 2,300MW of new wind power to market by 2010.

GE Energy will locally assemble and supply its wind turbines for one of China’s largest wind projects to date. When completed in 2007, the Jiangsu Rudong Concession II Wind Project in Jiangsu Province will add 150MW of wind power capacity to China’s electricity grid.
