Following its deployment in early February, a ZX 300 wind Lidar is measuring wind speeds at 1300m above mean sea level in the Carpathian Mountain range, Ukraine.
Supporting independent power generation projects, the ZX 300 wind Lidar will conduct a one-year wind resource campaign in the region, aiding the development of onshore wind farms and green reconstruction efforts. As the conflict persists, Ukraine is strategising its green reconstruction, with a focus on rebuilding the country with the smallest possible carbon footprint. Leaders in the country are pursuing decentralised power generation and aiming to reduce dependence on neighbouring countries, viewing it as crucial to the nation's economic recovery and national security. The government aims for a grid mix of 50% renewables and 50% nuclear by 2030.
