RWE has confirmed its final investment decision for the repowering of the Muel wind farm in Spain. Located in the Aragon region near Zaragoza, the existing wind farm comprises 27 turbines with a total capacity of 16.2 MW. These will be dismantled and replaced by three modern turbines, each with a capacity of 6.6 MW, bringing the total capacity to 19.8 MW.
Construction is scheduled to begin next spring, starting with the removal of the old turbines. Installation of the new turbines will follow, with full operations expected by the end of 2025. A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been secured with an undisclosed offtaker.
