Measnet has released its Ground-Based Lidar Verification Procedure, developed by the organisation’s Expert Group on Remote Sensing. The procedure provides technical guidance for the implementation of ground-based lidar validation, including the interpretation of key technical aspects and additional requirements.
It also introduces a structured methodology for evaluating proficiency test results to improve consistency across verification activities. The framework further defines technical specifications for two main areas of lidar verification: data processing methodologies and uncertainty calculation.
