Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Energy Transition Fund (CI ETF I), in collaboration with Friesen Elektra Green Energy AG (Friesen Elektra), has launched Project Anker, a green hydrogen production facility in Sande, Germany. The facility will initially feature an electrolysis capacity of 400 MW, with plans to scale up to 800 MW.
Project Anker will use renewable energy from the grid, supported by offshore and onshore wind and solar power. Located near Wilhelmshaven, a key energy and industrial hub, the site is strategically positioned close to Germany’s planned hydrogen core network. Once operational, it is expected to produce 80,000 tons of green hydrogen per year.
