Equinor and Polenergia have applied for environmental approval for the connection infrastructure of the 1560 MW Bałtyk I offshore wind farm, slated for auction in 2025.
This project is part of a collaboration between Equinor and Polenergia, which also includes Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III, with a combined capacity of up to 3 GW. Bałtyk I will be situated approximately 80 kilometers from the coastline. Bałtyk II and Bałtyk III, expected to be operational in 2027 with a capacity of 1440 MW, will round out the trio. Suppliers for the project include Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for turbines, SIF Netherlands B.V. for foundations, and Hitachi Energy for electrical systems infrastructure.
