Seabed surveys are underway at the Lillebælt Syd offshore wind project, with a primary survey vessel already collecting data on water depth and seabed conditions.
It will soon be joined by two smaller vessels. Using 3D technology, the surveys will map the seabed, locate large rocks and detect potential unexploded ordnance.
The survey campaign is expected to continue until the end of July 2025. The Lillebælt Syd offshore wind farm will have a planned capacity of 165 MW and is scheduled to be operational in 2029.
The establishment permit for the project was granted in December 2024. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with commissioning planned for 2029. The wind farm will feature 11 turbines, each 256 metres tall, with a total capacity of 165 MW. TotalEnergies will hold a 72.25% stake in the project, with European Energy owning 15% and SONFOR holding 12.75%.
