RWE has started constructing the Mondonuovo wind farm in the Apulia region of south-east Italy. In the first construction phase, access roads to the site are adjusted and crane erection areas are built.
The team then pours the 20-metre-high foundations and erects the towers. RWE uses special blade lifter technology to transport the rotor blades, allowing them to navigate tight bends and alleyways. Nine turbines will be installed, each with a capacity of 5.9MW. The 53MW Mondonuovo wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in 2025.
