Ventyr, a consortium comprising Parkwind and Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, has announced its success in the Norwegian auction for developing the Sørlige Nordsjø II phase 1 area in the Southern Norwegian North Sea.
The Sørlige Nordsjø II project marks the initial stride towards Norway's objective of allocating 30 GW of offshore wind power by 2040. The first turbines of the 1.5 GW wind farm are projected to be operational by 2030. Ventyr group outperformed a joint rival bid from Equinor and RWE, the only other group to submit a bid among the five pre-qualified groups.
