Bernhard Schulte Offshore (BSO) has taken delivery of Windea Clarke, the fourth and final vessel in its latest series of Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs), marking the completion of the newbuilding programme. The vessel was christened on 30 June at Ulstein Verft in Norway and will begin its first seasonal charter on an offshore wind project in the UK North Sea.
Windea Clarke has been designed for offshore wind operations and incorporates Ulstein's TWIN X-STERN hull design. The vessel is equipped with a hybrid battery propulsion system and has been prepared for future methanol fuel use, supporting lower-emission operations.
The vessel has also been awarded DNV's SILENT-E class notation, confirming compliance with specified limits for underwater radiated noise emissions. Noise-reduction measures include an optimised propeller design, vibration control and a vessel layout intended to reduce underwater noise.
Accommodation is provided in single cabins for offshore personnel. The vessel is equipped with a centrally positioned, height-adjustable walk-to-work gangway and elevator tower to support personnel transfers.
A 3D motion-compensated crane is installed for offshore lifting operations, while storage capacity and stepless internal workflows are intended to support efficient operations. Windea Clarke also features a height-adjustable boat landing system for transfers between the CSOV and crew transfer vessels, together with a helideck to facilitate technician transport and crew changes.
