Mammoet supports Baltic Power monopile handling operations

Mammoet supported Van Oord with the handling and marshalling of monopiles for the Baltic Power offshore wind project. The company used its MTC 1600 terminal crane, with a 1,600 tonne lifting capacity, during operations at the Port of Ronne in Denmark. The crane was deployed alongside a second unit for load-in and load-out activities.
California issues Notice of Intent to Sue over offshore wind lease termination agreement

California Attorney General Rob Bonta and California Energy Commission (CEC) Chair David Hochschild have sent a Notice of Intent to Sue challenging an agreement between the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) and Golden State Wind (GSW). In the Notice of Intent to Sue sent to DOI and GSW, California alleges that the agreement violates the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act (OCSLA), which governs the offshore wind leasing programme. The notice provides a 60-day period for DOI and GSW to address the alleged OCSLA violations before California files suit.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners reaches financial close on 392 MW Pestera II wind farm in Romania

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Fund II (GMF II), has announced financial close for the 392 MW Pestera II onshore wind project in Constanța County, Romania. The Pestera II project secured a 15-year contract for difference (CfD) for 245 MW of its capacity in December 2024. The project is expected to reach commercial operation in 2028.
Hitachi Energy awarded contract for converter stations of 600 MW Italy–Tunisia interconnection

Terna, the company that manages the Italian national electricity transmission grid, and STEG, the Tunisian electricity and gas grid operator, have awarded Hitachi Energy a contract for the construction of the converter stations for the Elmed project, the first electricity interconnection between Italy and Tunisia. The infrastructure will be built in Partanna, in the Province of Trapani, Italy, and in Mlaabi, in the Menzel Temime area of Tunisia. The link, based on HVDC technology, will have a capacity of 600 MW and will extend approximately 220 km, mainly via submarine cable, reaching a maximum depth of about 800 metres in the Strait of Sicily. Hitachi Energy is responsible for providing the HVDC solution.
Sany commissions first wind turbine in Europe at hybrid project in Spain
