RWE to provide secondary reserve for German power grid via Amrumbank West offshore wind farm

RWE plans to supply a system-stabilising secondary reserve, also known as automatic frequency restoration reserve, for the German power grid from its offshore wind farm, Amrumbank West. Transmission system operator TenneT has granted the necessary pre-qualification for a capacity of 60MW.
Global operational offshore wind capacity reaches 80GW

RenewableUK’s latest Offshore Wind EnergyPulse Insights report reveals that the global capacity of fully operational offshore wind farms has reached 80.9GW, up from 70.2GW a year ago—an increase of 15%. Two markets accounted for 63% of this new capacity: China added 6.9GW, while the Netherlands contributed 1.7GW.
