The BlueFloat Energy | Nadara Partnership has completed two-year wind and metocean monitoring campaigns at its Broadshore Hub and Bellrock floating offshore wind farm sites. The campaigns involved the deployment of Eolos’ FLS200 floating Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) buoys at the Broadshore Hub, located 50 km north of Fraserburgh, and the Bellrock site, 120 km east of Aberdeen.
These buoys recorded wind, wave, current, and atmospheric data to provide detailed insights into local site conditions. The data will support the engineering design of both projects and will be combined with geophysical and geotechnical seabed survey results gathered by Acteon to refine development plans. The Broadshore (900 MW) and Bellrock (1,800 MW) projects form part of the Partnership's 4.4 GW Scottish floating offshore wind portfolio, which also includes the 1,500 MW Stromar project in collaboration with Ørsted.
