The Italian Ministry for Environment and Energy Security has granted approval for the 7SeasMed Floating Offshore Wind project.
Following the completion of the environmental impact assessment, the project, led by Copenhagen Offshore Partners, has received the necessary approval. The project is owned by a consortium that includes GreenIT, the Italian renewable energy joint venture between Plenitude (Eni) and CDP Equity (CDP Group), as well as Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners. The 7SeasMed project entails a 250MW floating offshore wind project situated just over 20 miles off the coast of Sicily, specifically near Marsala on the western side of the island. The approval of the environmental impact assessment sets the stage for the construction and operation of the offshore wind farm.
