Nexans has secured a framework agreement with RTE (Réseau de Transport d'Électricité), France’s transmission system operator, to supply, install, and commission high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables for offshore wind projects.
The agreement covers 450 km of subsea HVDC cables and 280 km of onshore HVDC cables to connect three offshore wind farms—Center Manche 1, Center Manche 2, and Oléron—to the French transmission network. The contract is valued at over €1 billion, subject to final project details and subcontractor agreements in the next phase.
