Scottish Ministers have granted approval for an amendment application to fine-tune the offshore consents for the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm.
The amendment entails a reduction in the number of turbines, which will be positioned within a smaller area, while maintaining a capacity of 100 MW. The operational lifespan of the project will extend up to 25 years. This application was submitted following additional survey work and advancements in project design, enabling the proposals to be refined. Situated 7.5 km off the coast of Dounreay in Caithness, the Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm is under development by Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).
