Siemens Energy has secured another order for an offshore wind power plant in Germany. For the customer DONG Energy the company will supply up to 89 wind turbines for the Borkum Riffgrund 1 project in the North Sea off the German coast.

Gamesa has signed an agreement to supply E.ON with an offshore prototype of its G11X-5.0MW platform in 2012. The agreement also includes the installation of one, and possibly two, Gamesa G128-4.5 MW wind turbine(s) for an E.ON site in Europe.

Vestas has signed an agreement with WindPlus for the deployment of a wind turbine with a full-scale semi-submersible floating structure, called the WindFloat Project. WindPlus is a joint venture company led by the EDP Group with partners including Principle Power Inc. and several other entities.

Gamesa has signed two new agreements with Guangdong Nuclear Wind Power and China Huadian New Energy Development to develop a total of 600MW wind projects in Jilin province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The agreements will see Gamesa deliver several batches of G9X-2.0MW wind turbines during the next five years.

Second Wind is helping a group of Dartmouth College engineering students bring sustainable development to a remote region of Tanzania.
